Rashtrapathi Bhavan
From the Household of the President of India:
“We are extremely grateful
for the provision of two Swiss Egro Coffee Vending Machines on a
trial basis for the Investiture Ceremony held between 18 &
22 April, 1998, at Rashtrapathi Bhavan. The different types of
coffee dispensed have been of high quality and we would like to
have this facility permanently at Rashtrapathi Bhavan.”
Amartya Sen
Noble Prize Winning Economist
Both the service and the quality of
the coffee served are great.
Your operator in charge of operations here is most charming and
likeable. Many thanks and best wishes!
Advanced coffee brewers
Coffee Board, India
From the Coffee Board, Bangalore: excerpts from a letter by the
Deputy Director (Quality Control).
“We have gone through the
brochure of the Swiss Egro Coffee Brewer. This is one of the
most advanced coffee brewers and introduction of these machines
in India by your company will go a long way in promoting fresh
and pure, quality coffee to the Public. We note that yours is
the only company to go in for franchising these machines and we
wish your efforts success.”
Good coffee wanted : Rashtrapathi
Bhavan ,Coffee Board, India
April 1999
From the Coffee Board, Bangalore: from the desk of the Chairman.
“Throughout the world, coffee
is the most sought after beverage at Airports and there is a
tremendous demand for good quality coffee. As of now, at
airports, instant coffee is made available through vending
machines. However, instant coffee is not a substitute for
roasted and ground coffee. Quality-wise, Instant coffee is a
poor country cousin of roasted and ground coffee, and throughout
the world, most connoisseurs of coffee would resort to drinking
instant coffee only if roasted and ground coffee is not
available.
Instant coffee has a high percentage of robusta coffee beans
which does not contribute flavour and aroma, while roasted and
ground coffee beans have a high percentage of arabica coffee
beans, which are distinguished for their taste, aroma and
fragrance.
On several occasions, foreign visitors who have visited India
have observed that good quality coffee is not being available in
airports in India. The Airports Authority of India has taken up
a massive programme of modernisation of airports throughout the
country, which has contributed to the upgradation of the image
of the country. In this background, I would request you to
kindly consider introducing automatic coffee vending machines
which will serve roasted and ground coffee at the airports.
M/s Fresh & Honest Café Limited, Chennai, had requested the
Coffee Board to take up with Indian Airports Authority of India
the issue if installing fresh coffee brewing machines in the
airports throughout the country.”
Hygienic hot drink
South India Hotels & Restaurants
Association, India
From South India Hotels & Restaurants Association: excerpts
from a letter by the Secretary General.
“Messrs. Sterling
Horticulture & Research Limited (now known as FHCL) are
members of this association. They represent Swiss Egro, an
international reputed company in Switzerland and are giving
Filter Coffee Vending Machines on a franchise basis to hotels,
restaurants and other places of tourist interest. It is
recommended that installation of such machines in public places
like airports and important railway stations will help the
tourists and travellers to get a hygienic hot drink.”
